A little History on "Starlette Jud"

"Trixie" as we call her, is a new addition to MW. Brandi purchased her in febuary from an elderly woman who was recently widowed. Trixie was in our opinion not knowingly neglected, but indeed neglected. She had been sent off to the breeders/trainers (double slip bar ranch) in 07, and was covered by grey arabian stallion "Ala King". The trainer informed Brandi that when Trixie arrived, her feet had never been done, no vaccinations or worming, an old wound that left a huge "dent" in the mares neck, and while slightly spoiled, never halter broke. She spent a lot of time on this mare, feeling sorry for her.

She had the mare vaccinated and wormed, as well as had the farrier out every 3-4 weeks to fix her under run heels. The trainer at double slip bar ranch halter broke, bred, and then started Trixie under saddle. Upon return to her normal home, she was again, put out to pasture with no worming, hoof care, and of course no riding.

When the circumstance came upon her previous owner to sell, Brandi was contacted by an equine friend in regards to her need of a new home. After seeing some pictures, Brandi looked at the mare and decided on the spot she was to take her home.

Since in Brandi's care, Trixie has been given her vaccine boosters, kept up to date on wormer, and had regular farrier care. Brandi is working hard to gain the mares trust, and plans to resart her in the future. She also hopes to clip and bathe her up for proper presentation of this mares spectacular conformation and muscle structure.

Update on Trixie,

Trixie is an absolute doll, and we have hopes to restart her this fall, and begin showing her summer 2011.
